Atleast 12 suspected militants were killed today in two US drone attacks in the volatile North Waziristan tribal region in northwest Pakistan.
In the first attack, drones fired two missiles at a house owned by a tribesman named Gul Adam Khan at Maachis Camp, a kilometre away from Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan agency.
At least six suspected militants were killed and three others injured in the attack, sources said.
The house collapsed after the blast. Local residents rushed to the site and pulled out the bodies and injured from the rubble.
In the second strike, the pilotless spy planes fired four missiles at a compound in Datta Khel near Miranshah, killing six more suspected militants.
The area where the attacks occurred is dominated by the Haqqani militant network, sources said.
US drones have carried out dozens of attacks this year on suspected militant hideouts in North and South Waziristan Agencies and killed scores of suspected militants, including top Taliban and al-Qaeda elements.
