US charges Headley for role in 26/11

WASHINGTON: US prosecutors on Monday charged David Coleman Headley in the 2008 attacks in Mumbai, including charges that he aided and abetted the murder of six Americans.

Headley, had already been charged with plotting attacks against a Danish newspaper whose cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed led to violent protests. Headley is cooperating with authorities, the US justice department said.

US prosecutors said they also unsealed charges against a retired major in the Pakistani military, Abdur Rehman Hashim Syed, for participating in the conspiracy to attack the Danish newspaper and its employees.
