Three militants killed in US drone attack in Pakistan

Three militants were killed when a US drone fired missiles at a compound in the restive north Waziristan area in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province.

The drone fired two missiles at a militant compound in Boya area, 20 kms west of Miranshah, the main town in north Waziristan, official sources said, adding three people were killed.

The identity of the dead could not immediately be ascertained.

The US has stepped up drone attacks in north Waziristan since a suicide bomber linked to the Pakistani Taliban killed seven CIA operatives in neighbouring Khost province of Afghanistan in December.
