A Chinese NGO today said Tibetan spiritual guru Dalai Lama should not be a "big issue" between India and China.
"Dalai Lama should not be a big issue between our relations with India," director general of Asia-Africa Department of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with foreign countries, Lin Yi, told a news conference here.
Asserting that politicians and different people may hold their own viewpoint on the Tibet issue, Yi, however, stressed that "Everybody knows that Tibet is territory of China".
"This (Tibet) is a domestic issue of China. Different people may have different views, but the stand of Chinese government is always the same," she said. She said there may be politicians around the world who have their own views on Tibet but added they were entitled to hold such views.
On many unresolved issues between India and China, she said, "we may have disputes with different countries, but we have our government officials who are working on this". Yi said in China, a majority of people want to have friendly relations with India.
