London: Renowned British actor Sir Michael Caine is no more supportive of the Labour party, as the film icon has now declared his ballot in favour of the Conservatives at the next general election.

Renowned British actor Sir Michael Caine has now declared his ballot in favour of the Conservatives at the next general election.

The 76-year-old Caine, who has been a Labour supporter in the past, criticised the "terrible state" of affairs in Britain.

"It's a big problem. The country is getting more and more violent and this film is a wake-up call, a warning to us all," the Telegraph quoted him as telling a Sunday newspaper.

He added: "I'll probably vote Conservative. I mean, we're in a terrible state whichever way you look at it, socially, financially and politically, so just give the other guy a chance.

"I don't know what Cameron's going to do, but in the end you vote out of desperation. You just have to have someone new and see what happens."
