Salman Rushdie is apparently waiting for Michelle Barish to accept his proposal to be his fifth wife.
In December, impatient Rushdie stepped in with a marriage proposal two days after stunning, flame-haired Barish split up with New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch, the New York Post reported.
According to the sources, Rushdie followed up his offer by gifting Michelle, who is the estranged wife of entrepreneur Chris Barish, a 7-carat emerald-cut diamond ring.
Reportedly Michelle is till date working towards a divorce settlement with Chris, with whom she has daughter Bee, and "is still mulling over the offer from Salman."
