In a novel initiative, the Reliance Metro Airport Express has arranged for prepaid and shared cab service for the convenience of the commuters who take the high-speed corridor.

The shared cab service has been operationalised at the Shivaji Stadium station for a minimum fare of Rs 10 and the service will be launched at the Delhi Aerocity station from Tuesday.

Fliers who have to reach the Terminal 1D of the Indira Gandhi International Airport can now get down at Aerocity station and reach the terminal by the shared cabs.

The cabs will be available from 8 am to 8 pm everyday at these stations and the Reliance Metro has tied up with Iris Cab, which provides radio taxi facility, a Reliance Infra spokesperson said.

These cabs have radio connectivity and their movements are closely monitored by the control room, he said.

"We are continuously working towards enhancing the commuters' convenience. The radio cab service will further ensure a comfortable, safe and better travel experience for our commuters," the spokesperson said.

The facility would also be made available at New Delhi station soon.
