ShareBangalore: US president Barack Obama got on his wife's bad side on Friday after dancing with Mexican pop singer Thalia at the White House's Fiesta Latina event, a concert celebrating Hispanic musical heritage on the South Lawn.
Thalia went up to the president's table, grabbed him and led him out to the dance floor where they did a pretty mean salsa. At one point during the dance, Obama fanned himself, apparently overcome by Thalia's beauty and her impressive salsa moves.
But not everyone was impressed by the dance number. When Obama returned to his seat, he got a brush off from his wife, who didn't appear interested in hearing about his slick moves on the dance floor. Michelle's Latina snub was immediately up on Youtube and Myspace, where it was, till Friday night, the most-watched video.
President Obama tried to cover up the incident by paying homage to Latino music. "In the end, what makes Latino music great is the same thing that's always made America great; the unique ability to celebrate our differences while creating something new."
The event was attended by some big South American names like Marc Anthony, Eva Longoria Parker, Jimmy Smits, Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, George Lopez, and Los Lobos.
