London: A two-year-old girl in the UK endures a rare condition that could lead her to death if she burst into tears. Little Tianna Lewis McHugh suffers from an extreme form of the condition where simple crying could set off a seizure and block breathing as her skin turns white, her body stiffens and her heart stops beating.

Parents Ceri Lewis, 23, and Andy McHugh, 30, revealed their daily struggle to keep Tianna from shedding those tears, reports The Daily Express.

Speaking of the first time the youngster had a fit, hotel receptionist Ceri, from Brymbo, Wrexham, North Wales, said: "I picked her up out of her high chair and put her on the floor. She cried for seconds and then she looked like she had died.

"She went a deathly grey, her lips and around her eyes were blue and her eyes rolled back in her head. "When she has the fits she stops breathing and looks dead because she stiffens up and her back arches. I thought she was dead and I was hysterical."

Tianna, who survived 10 seizures, suffered the most serious fit lasting two hours that saw her struggling for her life a fortnight later. The couple is keeping their fingers crossed, hoping their little girl will outgrow the condition.

Andy said: "When she has fits it's horrendous. If she starts to cry we flick water in her face to bring her out of the shock. "For 18 months we have been cautious so she doesn't get hurt or shocked. She's our little angel and it makes us appreciate her more."
