WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Friday that he and his organisation faced an aggressive investigation by US authorities after the website released secret diplomatic cables.
Asked if he was facing a US conspiracy, Assange told reporters: "I would say that there is a very aggressive investigation. A lot of face has been lost by some people, and some people have careers to make by pursuing famous cases."
Assange has been freed on bail by a British court pending an extradition hearing next year. Sweden wants to question him over allegations of sexual assault but Assange says the Swedes have yet to present him or his defence with evidence.
"Similarly, in the United States, with what appears to be a secret grand jury investigation against me or our organisation, not a single comment about what is going on."
