Guinea junta leader Moussa Dadis Camara was rushed to Morocco's main military hospital, shortly after landing at Sale airport, outside the Moroccan capital, government officials in Rabat said on Friday.
Camara survived a gun attack by one of his aides on Thursday.
"The Guinean president is being treated at Hay Riyad military hospital on the outskirts of Rabat," an official said from the main gate of the hospital.
Earlier, Morocco's foreign ministry said in a statement that Camara had not consulted Morocco before his flight but Rabat would give him medical treatment on humanitarian reasons.
"In the light of this development, and for strictly humanitarian reasons, Morocco will receive president Dadis Camara, so as to give him the required treatment at a Moroccan health facility," the ministry added.
Elites from West African countries, who enjoy good links with Morocco, are often received for medical checks at Rabat military hospital.
