Four killed in jet crash at UAE's Al Ain airport

The UAE's civil aviation authority said the jet, a Grumman 21T, took off shortly after 4pm (1200 GMT) but veered to the left and crashed on the taxiway.

Four people were killed when a small passenger aircraft heading to Riyadh crashed shortly after taking off on Sunday from Al Ain airport in the United Arab Emirates, the state news agency said.

The UAE's civil aviation authority said the jet, a Grumman 21T, took off shortly after 4pm (1200 GMT) but veered to the left and crashed on the taxiway.

The aircraft was destroyed by the impact and the subsequent fire, the statements said.
