Former US President Bill Clinton, who turned 65 in August, is belatedly celebrating his birthday with a three-day Hollywood party to benefit his charitable foundation that he set up 10 years ago.

Just as at his inauguration nearly 20 years ago, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks kicked off the festivities on Friday.

The A-list celebrations continued on Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, where Lady Gaga, Usher, Kenny Chesney, and a special acoustic set from Bono and The Edge, who performed for Clinton at the opening of his presidential library back in 2004, also performed, CBS News reported.

Clinton's relationship with LA's 'A-listers' is legendary. Even though he's been out of office for more than a decade, Clinton is still cashing in on his Hollywood connections.

The money is being raised for his foundation, which champions causes such as combating poverty, obesity and HIV-AIDS.

"We've seen the Clintons combine politics and their private lives quite a bit," said Glenn Thrush of Politico.

"This is a natural for him, to leverage his fame and his love of partying with his philanthropic efforts. So this (Hollywood) is the perfect place to be doing it."
