As the year comes to a close, Yahoo has released the top ten list of the most searched words this year.

There are some that have carried over from last year's list, and some new entrants in the list too.

Let's find out what intrigued the netizens the most this year.

Here's the list of searches that topped Yahoo's list:

1. Bobbi Kristina Brown: The Internet erupted with the news of the untimely death of Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown after she was found unconscious in her bathtub at her home on January 31, and was kept alive in a medically induced coma for several months. She passed away on July 26, 2015 at the age of 22. Last year, the number one searched word was Ebola, the list threatening virus that had the world up in arms.

2. iPhone: The only gadget to feature on the list for a second year running, the iPhone's popularity as a search word has climbed seven places to trend at number two in 2015. According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partner, around 100 million iPhones are used in the US alone. The research also noted that two-third of that population was already using the latest model -- the iPhone 6.

3. Caitlyn Jenner: Caitlyn Jenner shot to fame after her gender transition and her association with the Kardashians. Previously famous as the decathlon Olympian Bruce Jenner, but nowhere close to her current popularity on the Internet, Caitlyn Jenner was the third most searched word on Yahoo in 2015.

4. Kendall Jenner: Kim Kardashian's little sister emerged with the most-liked picture on Instagram this year, with a photo of her hair arranged in the shape of hearts.

5. Minecraft: With over 50 million copies of the game sold, Minecraft has emerged as one of the most popular games in recent times. In spite of climbing down from last year's popularity of being the second-most searched word on Yahoo, Minecraft has managed to still remain in the top five this year.

6. Jennifer Aniston: Up from being the number ten in the most-searched words in 2014, the adorable F.R.I.E.N.D.S. star rounded up being the sixth on the list this year, after her wedding to actor and director Justin Theroux.

7. Kim Kardashian: Down one spot from last year's search list, Kim Kardashian still remained in the top ten after she, along with Kanye West announced that they were expecting for a second time, with the baby due in July next year.

8. Katy Perry: Her comment on the Nicky Minaj-Taylor Swift feud on Twitter and most importantly, her performance with the dancing sharks at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, garnered much attention online and put her on the list.

9. Ronda Rousey: Mixed martial artist Ronda Roussey shot to fame after her famous knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. This is the first time that she lost a match. Besides that, she also starred in Entourage and Furious 7 of the Fast and Furious franchise this year.
