As the US president Barack Obama is enjoying ‘family time’ sans his daughters; his staffers have taken full advantage of the opportunity as the official White House twitter feed went wild with non-serious posts.
According to the New York Daily News, on Tuesday, the account posted the picture of the first dog, BO, with a ball in mouth sitting patiently on the presidential seal on Obama’s carpet in the Oval Office with a posting that read, ‘ Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen’, a reference to Tina Fey's hilarious Mean Girls comedy. The post was retweeted more than 21,000 times.
Other posts noted the boredom of ‘hump Wednesday’ and even celebrated the President's quirky left-handedness.
However, Wednesday picture of Vice President Biden went a tad too far, considering hundreds of Egyptians were being killed in violent clashes. The picture was taken from Biden’s trip to Mongolia in August 2011
While Obama addressed the nation on Thursday from Martha's Vineyard about the Egyptian violence, the White House Twitter feed took a more somber tone, featuring his comments in the aftermath of the bloodbath
The report added that Obama does not manage the White House Twitter feed as he has a separate Twitter account, @BarackObama.
