The White House said on Wednesday that the Obama administration is focused on building enough support for the Iran deal to keep Congress from "spoiling" the agreement.

"There are several indications that we are succeeding in our effort to build support in Congress," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters.

On a separate note, the White House is hopeful that Congress will reauthorise the Export-Import bank when it returns from recess, spokesman Josh Earnest said on Wednesday.

Funding for the Export-Import bank lapsed when Congress failed to pass a reauthorisation bill last month. Congress will have a chance to restore those funds when it returns September 8, Earnest said.
