The Connecticut mom, who was fatally shot multiple times near the Capitol by police after running her black Infiniti sedan over barricades outside the White House was reportedly obsessed with President Barack Obama and convinced that he was stalking her.

Miriam Carey, 34, had claimed that the president had put Connecticut city on lockdown and arranged for her to be electronically monitored so that her life could be broadcast on TV. The dental hygienist had called herself the ‘prophet of Stamford’ and her boyfriend Eric Francis revealed that she was delusion and irrational.

According to the New York Post, Carey’s friends said that she had been unraveling since April 2012 when she hit her head in a fall and neighbours said that three months ago, she had been rambling about how the world is going to end. Carey’s mother, Idella, said that her daughter suffered from post-partum depression after giving birth to Erica last August.

The report said that during investigation, authorities found medications used to treat schizophrenia and depression in her Connecticut home and a letter addressed to Francis that appeared to contain white powder. Carey ran her car over the White House barricades leading federal agents and cops on a chase down Pennsylvania Avenue, before being shot dead.
