For the first time since the US election former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton steps out of the shadows since her defeat with a powerful message for all in a video message presented at the 2017 MAKERS conference.

Speaking about women's rights and leading the way for those concerned about the future, she said "We need strong women to step up and speak out. We need you to dare greatly and lead boldly."

"So please, set an example for every woman and girl out there who’s worried about what the future holds and wonders whether our rights, opportunities, and values will endure."

The former first lady and Secretary of State for the US concludes, "And remember, you are the heroes and history makers, the glass ceiling breakers of the future."

"As I’ve said before, I’ll say again, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world," she once again stressed her message to all the women and girls watching, as she did after the election results.

Clinton, who laid low after her crushing defeat, did come out in support of the women's march in Washington and across the country on January 22, one day after her opponent Donald Trump's inauguration.

She also cheered on Lady Gaga's performance at the Super Bowl who made a political statement about LGBT rights and equality.

According to a report in People Magazine, Clinton will have more to share about women's rights and the new POTUS in her forthcoming book of essays.
