Watch Indian luger, Shiva Keshavan, make a miraculous save during Sochi Olympic practice

Sunday, 9 February 2014 - 3:31pm IST | Agency: dna webdesk

Shiva Keshavan, the Indian slider at the Sochi Olympics, nearly crashed from his sled at the speed of 70 kmph during practice, but made save just in time. And although, the video taken by NBC Olympics, that shows this close shave is not available to be viewed in the Indian region, GIF imagery across media provides breathtaking visuals of the moment

It isn't the most proud moment in the Indian history, in terms of our participation at the Winter Olmypics.

With the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) suspended by the IOC, Indian athletes walked under the flag of the IOC, and not our Tricolour. Yet despite the low morale, participation of Indian athletes, Shiva Keshavan, Nadeem Iqbal and Himanshu Thakur, has remained promising.

And such was the case when Keshavan, during a training run, made spectacular recovery from what looked to be a dangerous crash. And even though the video of this moment, taken by NBC Olympics, cannot be accessed from the Indian region, various GIFs of it have been immortalised on the internet.

Watch some of the best ones below.

And here are another two from BuzzFeed:

Indeed, a proud moment for Indians, the videos have gone viral on social media, earning Indian players, much due, respect.
