Watch: 'Bridges are better than walls' Hillary Clinton's victory speech

The US Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has garnered enough support of delegates to make her the first woman in the history of the United States to clinch the Democratic party's nomination for president.

Hillary Clinton delivered her victory speech on Tuesday and credited the woman she has become to her mother's values. Talking about her mother, Clinton said, "She taught me never to back down from a bully, which it turns out was pretty good advice."

During her speech, she also took on the Republican party's presumptive nominee Donald Trump referring to his proposal for erecting a wall along the Mexican border and said that we need to build bridges, not walls.

Clinton said that Trump's slogan 'Let's make America great again' actually means "let's make America backwards to the time where opportunity and dignity reserved to only some. We want a 21st century prosperity that lifts everyone that has been left out and left behind including those who may not vote for us but who deserve their chance to make a new beginning."

The Democratic presumptive nominee also said that Trump promises an economy he can not recreate. She said, "Trump called a distinguished judge unfit to do his job because he is Mexican, he mocks reporter with disability, calls women pigs, it goes against everything we stand for, we want an America where everyone is treated with respect and their work with values."
