BJP today said the allegations in a US lawsuit against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged role in Gujarat riots are "baseless" and a "false propaganda" by certain "frustated" elements rejected by the world.

Reacting to the US court summons on the lawsuit, BJP said it has no knowledge of it and raising such issues at a time when he has gone there as a head of the country are "irrelevant". "The allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi are baseless and a false propaganda by certain elements who have been rejected in the country and the world," BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

He said the world wants to maintain good ties and do business with India under Prime Minister Modi and the "false allegations" have already been rejected by the people of Gujarat four times and the country by electing him as the Prime Minister.

Earlier when asked about the summons, BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao said "these summons are only in the media. BJP does not have any authentic knowledge of any such document or summons. He has gone there as the Prime Minister of the country and raising such issues are irrelevant."
