Turkey | Gym gifts free lifetime pass to young Syrian refugee after his 'heart-breaking' photo goes viral

Joining gym is one of the top priorities that most of us have at some point or other. May be that was on Muhammad Hussein's mind when he was clicked staring wishfully at the equipment inside a gym through a glass window in Turkey's Adiyaman province.

What's so special about his photo is the fact that the 12-year-old is a Syrian refugee who works as a shoeshine boy.

His innocence broke heart of many in Turkey. The effect of the viral photo was such that the owner of the gym decided to gift a free lifetime pass to the young boy.

Later, his workout photos along with the gym owner won hearts of many.

'A boy, looking through the gym window, wearing slippers in the middle of winter and carrying his backpack. Our aim was to find him and offer him a lifetime membership here. And, we did it. He is one of our members now,' the gym owner told Hurriyet News.

Excited with all the attention, the boy said, “'I had always dreamed of losing weight and now I believe I can do that by working out.”

Muhummad Hussein had fled the brutal war in Syria.
