TTP claims responsibility for Lahore suicide blast

The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the suicide blast near Police Lines in Qila Gujar Singh area of Lahore in Pakistan that killed eight people and injured several others.

The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the suicide blast near Police Lines in Qila Gujar Singh area of Lahore in Pakistan that killed eight people and injured several others.

According to Dawn News, spokesperson for the Jamatul Ahrar faction of banned TTP, Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the blast was launched by the splinter group.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain strongly condemned the blast and offered condolences to the relatives of the victims.

A suicide bomber came to a hotel outside the Police Lines where he blew himself up today.

Several cars parked outside also caught fire and high plumes of smoke were visible.

The site of the explosion is quite close to Pakistan Railway headquarters.
