Remember Dolly to Doli? The 2015 Sonam Kapoor starrer was about a 'looteri dulhan' who would marry men only to dupe them and vanish with their money.

Almost similar script was played out in Thailand, except it wasn't for any movie.

It is a story of a young woman, believed to be in her early 30s, who married 11 different men over the period of two years only to leave them without any cash.

Jariyaporn Buayai, 32, was arrested in Bangkok with her 'real' husband after some victims complained to the cops.

It was a viral Facebook post with 'beware' tone that helped police to nab the 'runaway bride'.

Her modus operandi was pretty simple. She would befriend men on Facebook. After a brief relationship, she would marry them.

According to Thai tradition, the groom is supposed to offer dowry to the bride.

Soon after the sham marriage, the accused would vanish with the money.

The Washington Post report details about how this woman collected between $6,000 and $30,000 before vanishing.

The report also talked about her excuses before she ran away. Horoscope, taking care of parents back home or dealing with family business were some of her excuses.

Now, the Thai police is busy in establishing the fact whether the parents of the accused were also involved in the wedding scam.
