A police officer was killed in a campus shooting at Texas Tech University on Monday (local time). The lockdown has been lifted, latest reports say.
A 19-year-old student has been arrested for killing the cop on the campus.
University spokesman Chris Cook said the campus police made a student welfare check Monday evening and found upon entering the room evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Cook says officers brought the suspect to the campus police station for standard debriefing.
During this time, Cook says the suspect pulled out a gun and shot an officer in the head, killing him.
Earlier, the university had issued alerts to its students via Twitter
