Pokémon Go has taken over the world with people travelling far and wide to catch Pokémon. However, in war-torn Syria, children have lost all hopes of fun and play and have been living in adverse conditions for the last five years.
The Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office decided to create a photo series with Syrian children to remind the world of the Syria crisis, which according to Save The Children has left more than a quarter of million children living under siege.
The pictures of Pokémon are accompanied with small phrases in Arabic giving the location of the child holding the picture along with a cry of help. For example, one such picture says, "I am a Pokemon at Idlib in Syria, would you please come and save me?" Another one says, "I live in Kafr Nabl, the Aleppo countryside. Come catch me."

The Syria crisis is one of the worst tragedies that the world has seen in all of history and according to aid agencies is the worst humanitarian disaster of the modern times.
However, The Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office is not the only one using Pokémon Go to highlight the crisis. Syrian graphic designer, Saif Aldeen Tahhan also created images with a "Syria Go" logo to show the impact of war on the Syrian people over the last five years.
"I created these images as a way to turn attention to the Syrian war, and to focus on Syrian suffering instead of Pokémon, which people are crazy about," said Tahhan.
The world has become obsessed with this video game which influenced the Tahhan and the Syrian media to use it as a medium to convey their country's suffering.
