The accident happened in Andermatt, a mountain town in the canton of Uri.

Police did not comment on the severity of the injuries, but said medical personnel were at the scene.

As reported in UK's Metro, the collision is said to have happened in a station between Goschenen and Andermatt and the route has been closed following the crash at around 11.30am, local time.
