China’s foreign ministry on Tuesday denounced the United States’ blacklisting of some of its top AI start-ups, calling it an “interference in it’s domestic affairs”.
US Commerce Department said “entities have been implicated in human rights violations and abuses in the implementation of China’s campaign of repression, mass arbitrary detention, and high-technology surveillance against Uighurs, Kazakhs, and members of Muslim minority groups.”
“We urge the US to immediately correct its mistakes and withdraw the relevant decisions, and stop interfering with China’s internal affairs. We will take firm actions to protect its interests of sovereignty, safety and development,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said.
