You have heard about ‘big fat Indian weddings’, now is the time to cross border and get a taste of opulent Pakistani shaadi.

Meet Salman Shahid, the groom who can put any bride in self-doubt for his love for gold!

Still wondering what’s the big deal about? Well, this businessman from Lahore wore a 25 lakhs worth outfit on his valima or wedding reception.

It included a gold tie embellished with crystals and shoes made of gold. The groom reportedly wore an outfit worth Rs 25 lakhs. His suit alone cost, Rs 63,000, his shoes were made with 32 tolas of gold and they cost Rs. 17 lakhs and that tie is made with 10 tolas gold which cost Rs 5 lakhs

When asked what made his do so, he answered with a disarming innocence – Shauk hai (cause I love it)!

‘People make crowns from gold, I just wanted shoes made from gold,’ Shahid was quoted as saying by a Pakistani news channel.

Predictably, the photos and the video of the valima have gone viral and people in Pakistan are just wondering what else they could have done with that much money.

Others wondered what the bride wore if the groom had such ‘nakhrey (tantrums)!’

The groom was accompanied by several securitymen at the event in Lahore’s Valencia Town.
