Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was trying to escape the Panamagate case in the Supreme Court as he did not possess any evidence to prove himself innocent, opposition leader Imran Khan today alleged.
Taking a dig at Sharif, the cricketer-turned-politician said the PML-N chief was not even aware of the fact that his children have become billionaires.
Imran, while addressing mediapersons after the proceedings of the Panamagate scandal, said Sharif was accountable to the nation and that "every leader is accountable to the people in democracy".
"They have accepted the ownership of the London apartments and now it is their duty to provide their money trail in the court," Imran was quoted as saying by The Express Tribune.

"Today, they have shown that they have no evidence of any business money trails and are hiding behind technicalities that Article 62 and 63 do not apply to the prime minister," Imran, the Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairperson, added.

Yesterday, Sharif said Imran and some other opposition leaders "speak lies (about me and my family) on daily basis.
They even do not have a break of a day or two in a week. They talk about those things which even do not exist and I am sick of their lies and wrong allegations".
The Supreme Court of Pakistan is currently hearing the Panamagate case in which the children of Sharif are accused of having offshore holdings and money laundering. However, Sharif denies his involvement in the case.
