A United Airlines passenger flying business class said that he was bitten by a scorpion on a different flight on Sunday. The airline has been in the news after a passenger was dragged from its plane in Chicago, sparking international outrage,

Sky News reports that Richard Bell, a passenger, was flying from Houston, Texas, to Calgary in Canada when he felt something fall on his head. He immediately took it out from his head and held on to it till his neighbour who was from Mexico alerted him that the creature was a scorpion. "My neighbour was a gentleman from Mexico and he said 'that's a scorpion, they're dangerous," said Bell.

Bell dropped the scorpion on his thumb but picked it up again and got bitten. "It stung me on the thumb, right next to my nail," said Bell.

Bell and a few other passengers managed to catch the scorpion and cover it with a cup. They all hit it with a shoe. The airlines staff immediately flushed it down the toilet.

The crew called doctors on ground to ensure Bell was not in any danger. Commending the flight crew, Bell said that they were 'fantastic'. Bell was given credit for another flight.
