The British royal family opened their gates to welcome Spanish royals - King Felipe and Queen Letizia for a state banquet at the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. The Queen of England hosted the Spanish royals for an extravagant night which saw more 150 guests in attendance, but what remains paparazzi's favourite bit is Kate Middleton wearing Princess Diana's tiara.

Being a royal delight, Kate Middleton looked the epitome of elegance and grace in a lace pink Marchesa gown with a plunging neckline and low back- a rare look for the otherwise conservative dresser Kate. She paired the outfit with a V-shaped diamond and ruby necklace with a diamond drop pendant which belonged to the Queen of King George VI and pearl drop earrings belonging to Princess Diana.

Just like Princess Diana, Duchess of Cambridge too seems to be in love with the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara as she wore Princess Diana's favourite piece of jewellery for the fifth time. It dates back to 1914 when it was crafted by royal jewellers for Queen Mary and got passed down through the hierarchy of the royal family. It was so heavy that Princess Diana used to reportedly have headaches each time she wore it.
