Roadside bombing injures 11 Pakistan security officials

The vehicle was targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Nangrosa area of Tirah in the Khyber district when a convoy of security forces were on a routine duty.

At least 11 security personnel were injured today, some of them seriously when their convoy was targeted in a roadside bomb by militants in Pakistan's restive northwestern tribal region.

The vehicle was targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Nangrosa area of Tirah in the Khyber district when a convoy of security forces were on a routine duty.

The vehicle was hit when an IED exploded near it.

A security official said that one of the vehicles was hit in the bombing.

"The explosion injured 11 soldiers and damaged the vehicle," he said.

"Some of them were seriously injured. The injured men were airlifted to a military hospital in Peshawar," he said.

The attack occurred a day after forces announced to have killed 34 militants in air attacks.
