Queen Elizabeth II's 'first tweet' creates 'confusion' in cyber space

Queen Elizabeth II recently sent her very first tweet and kept things traditional by signing off with Elizabeth R, however, people have doubts if it was really the Queen who sent it.

During the opening of a new gallery in central London's Science Museum, the 88-year-old monarch in the presence of 600 guests took off her gloves and typed a message on a tablet screen, which said "I hope people will enjoy visiting," Stuff.co.nz reported.

It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.

The text was sent instantly through her majesty's official social media account, but the confusion started when it appeared that the message may have been typed ahead in time and bizarrely appeared to have been sent using the Twitter for iPhone app, while the Queen had used an iPad.

Though the Buckingham Palace spokesman said the message came "personally" from the Queen herself, the officials refused to go into the details.

It should be noted that the Queen does not have a Twitter account to herself, as do most of the royal members, who are represented by official accounts managed by spokespeople.
