The magazine cover which contains the disturbing image tried to suggest that the influx of the refugees in the European Union has increased the rape cases.
Polish magazine 'wSieci' or 'The Network' sparked worldwide outrage after the magazine's latest edition featured a seemingly racist cover of a picture of a screaming blonde, white woman draped in European Union flag while she is being groped by dark-skinned hands. The cover also has a caption titled 'Islamic rape of Europe' depicting that the woman is being raped by the refugees.
The magazine cover which contains the disturbing image tried to suggest that the influx of the refugees in the European Union has increased the rape cases in the region and the 'Islamic' refugees are the ones to be blamed for it.

The magazine also contained several related stories on the topic of sexual assault and rape of women in Cologne, Germany. The edition particularly had accounts of sexual assaults on New year's eve where reportedly around 1,000 complaints were filed Cologne. However, according to reports, very few of the identified perpetrators in the Cologne attack were refugees.
Author of the cover article, Aleksandra Rybinska wrote in the magazine, "The people of old Europe after the events of New Year’s Eve in Cologne painfully realised the problems arising from the massive influx of immigrants. The first signs that things were going wrong, however, were there a lot earlier. They were still ignored or were minimised in significance in the name of tolerance and political correctness”.
