US police officer Tim McMillan shares a beautiful tale of a cop and an African-American male, during tumultuous times as racial tensions soar in the United States (US).

Clashes between protesters and the police over the deaths of several African-American men has fuelled fears of police violence across the country.

On Facebook, McMillan recounts when he pulled a car over for texting and driving. On approaching the diver, he noticed it was a young black male, who he described as terrified "with his hands up".

"What do you want me to do officer?" asked the frightened boy with his voice quivering. "Do you want me to get out of the car."

McMillan noted what he saw saddened him. With a comforting response he said, "No, I don't want you to text and drive. I don't want you to get in a wreck. I want your mom to always have her baby boy. I want you to grow up and be somebody. I don't even want to write you a ticket. Just please pay attention, and put the phone down. I just don't want you to get hurt."

McMillan concluded that he doesn't want to place blame on the media, cops or protesters for initiating such fear when approached by an officer. "It doesn't matter to me who's to blame. I just wish somebody would fix it."

43-year-old Keith Scott's death was the latest string of police killings of black men in the US, which has unleashed riots and protests, leading to international criticism of America's treatment of minorities.

Sadly, stories like Scott's has been a regular occurrence in the media. McMillan's story has shed light on the often untold side, of an officer committed to serve and protect his community regardless of skin colour. Sending a more touching message - All Lives Matter.

The officer's Facebook post resonated with hundreds receiving  217, 000 likes and 144,611 shares.
