Former Pakistan president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf is challenging life time ban on his contesting elections for national and provincial assemblies in the Supreme Court.

On May 1, a larger bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) disqualified Gen Musharraf for life time to contest polls.

The court had dismissed his appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers for NA-32 (Chitral) constituency, the nation reports.

In the appeal, Musharraf's lawyer had said there is no clause in the constitution regarding life ban, adding that the PHC exceeded its powers by banning him for life from holding any public office, the report added.
