Pakistani lawmakers don't seem to be on the same platform in determining what led to the terror strike on the All Saints Church in Peshawar, resulting in the death of 78 people, most of them minority Christians.
While some said the attacks were aimed at sabotaging a government initiative to hold talks with the Taliban, others said the attack was a conspiracy engineered by the United States. Some lawmakers linked the Peshawar attack to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to US, and alleged that hidden forces did not want stability in Pakistan, the Express Tribune reports.
Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said even the places of worship were not secure in the country. Tariq Christopher Qaiser blamed the government for not being able to arrest culprits involved in the Church attack. Lal Chand urged there should be no discrimination against the minorities of the country.
