Days after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj hit out at Islamabad for creating terrorism, a Pakistani spy has now accused his own agency of 'protecting' terrorists, exposing Islamabad's double standard.

Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Shahzada, an assistant sub-inspector has accused Intelligence Bureau (IB) of  'protecting' terrorists and filed a petition in a court requesting for a thorough probe in the matter, said media reports.

Malik has accused the agency of not taking any action against terrorist groups from various countries, even after he reported about them to his superiors.

The matter should be referred to Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for a thorough probe, he said in a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), through his counsel Masroor Shah.

According to the Dawn newspaper, the IHC Registrar's Office has fixed the petition before Justice Aamer Farooq who referred the case to Chief Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi, with a note that the matter may be transferred to Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui since an identical matter is pending in his court, the paper quoted a court official as saying.

"Upon thorough intelligence gathering process, it transpired that certain high officials of the IB themselves are directly involved with the terrorist organisations having linkages with hostile enemy intelligence agencies," reads the petition

The petition also says that the matter was even reported to the IB director general, who also did not take any steps.

It claims some IB officials travelled to Israel and had direct links with Afghan intelligence which, it was found later, had links with another terrorist group from Kazakhstan.

The petition claims that the son of joint director IB (Punjab) was dealing with the said terrorist groups.

I have been running from pillar to post including approaching the prime minister of Pakistan to raise this issue of national security, Shahzad said in a plea.

Last week, slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi’s speech, Swaraj had urged their politicians to introspect. She pointed out that while both countries got their independence at the same time, India progressed by establishing scientific and technical institutions that are the pride of the world, while Pakistan nurtured only terrorist organisations.

“While India made institutes such as IIT, IIM, and AIIMS, Pakistan created terror groups such as LeT, JeM, Hizbul Mujahideen, and the Haqqani Network. The reality is that Pakistan’s politicians remember everything, manipulate memory according to convenience. They are masters at forgetting facts that destroy their version,” she said.

Rattled by Sushma Swaraj's speech, Pakistanis also tried to pass off Palestine victim as Kashmiri during right to reply.
