Pak PM Imran Khan won't be able to complete 5-year term, claims former prez Asif Ali Zardari

Former Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari has claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government will not be able to last the full term of five years.

Dubbing Khan as a 'selected prime minister', Zardari once again said that nobody accepted the results of the general elections and that the cricketer-turned-politician will not be able to complete the stipulated tenure, a report stated.

Zardari said that "the prime minister is not from the general public and he will not return to them."

"Now that you are a selected prime minister, learn something," he said. 

Asif Ali Zardari also called Imran Khan the 'accidental prime minister'. 

“Sit down and think about the government. Now that you have become an accidental, selected  prime minister, learn something,” Zardari said.

“Imran Khan has been waging a battle against me due to the 18th amendment. But it’s a conspiracy against the public,” he added.

The former president also warned Khan to not push them against the wall to an extent that things spiral out of control.

Earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said that PM Imran Khan lacks the courage to talk face-to-face during Parliament sessions.

Bilawal took a jibe at the premier’s tweet and questioned why some lawmakers are “so scared” of the Exit Control List (ECL).

“We will strongly oppose any action against the 18th Amendment,” he said.

"No one can snatch the rights that have been granted to provinces," Bilawal stated.
