The Paris Agreement on climate change will be signed at a high-level ceremony at UN headquarters on Friday, April 22.

About 165 countries have intended to sign the Paris agreement. The signing ceremony of the agreement will be held at the United Nations headquarters on Friday, April 22 - the Earth Day.
The Paris Agreement is a global agreement on climate change negotiated by representatives of 195 countries present at the 21st Conference of the Parties which was held between November 30 - December 11, 2015. The participatory countries curated this agreement in order to cut emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
The Paris Agreement will be open for signatures from April 22, 2016, to April 21, 2017, at the UN Headquarters in New York.

UN Secretary General's spokesperson Farhan Haq, on April 15 said, "The number of countries that have indicated their intentions to attend and sign the Paris Agreement on 22 April is now up to 155.”
Participation of a record number of 155 countries will be a milestone in international law.
UN has released a provisional list of Parties who have affirmed their intentions to sign the Paris Agreement. The list also includes countries which will deposit their instruments of acceptance on the same day.
In order to mark the signing ceremony, a tree-planting campaign has also been launched which uses the hashtags #ParisAgreement and #Trees4Earth over social media.
