Oscar Pistorius says Reeva Steenkamp used to pray for him regularly

Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius, who is testifying at the North Gauteng High Court in his murder trial, has revealed that his slain girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp used to pray for him regularly.

Pistorius, who shot Steenkamp through a toilet door at his home on Valentine's Day last year, is also charged with three contraventions of the Firearms Control Act, one of illegal possession of ammunition and two of discharging a firearm in public.

According to Sport24, in answer to prosecutor Gerrie Nel's questions about the Christianity aspect of their relationship, Pistorius said that Steenkamp prayed with him and added that she also 'prayed to be a better person'.

The Blade Runner further said that the late South African model used to pray for his performance at athletics meetings where the double-amputee was a star-performer on his carbon-fiber prosthetic 'blades', adding that she always prayed for 'small things'.
