The oldest living panda, Jia Jia, living in captivity at a Hong Kong theme park, has celebrated its 37 birthday.

Jia Jia was born in 1978 and arrived at the park in March 1999, where she has lived ever since.

The celebration included presents, an ice cake flavoured with mint and grenadine. In addition she now holds two Guinness World Records, as the female panda is officially the oldest giant panda in history to live in captivity.

It is also the oldest giant panda currently in captivity, People magazine reported. If calculated in human years, Jia Jia is roughly 100 years old, and has lived 25 years more than expected as per the reports.
