Aviation is having a nightmare year and it was all set to go even worse! Thankfully an AirAsia plane had a narrow escape with all 153 passenger and crew unhurt.
Reports suggest that an AirAsia plane has overshot the runway in Philippines while landing. The passengers were evacuated immediately on emergency slides and the situation is under control.
Flight Z2 272, a domestic flight, was flying from Manila to Kalibo in Philippines. A journalist travelling on the plane, Jet Damazo-Santos, tweeted pictures just after the incident.

Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane asap. Firetruck was waiting. Seems handled well. pic.twitter.com/fjY0idESNM

The flight was delayed by 2 hours before taking off. Damazo-Santos tweeted that the flight had a "hard, abrupt landing".
The incident comes just two days after AirAsia QZ8501 went missing. On Tuesday search teams recovered at least 40 bodies from the sea where the plane had lost communication.
