Nepal's former prime minister Prachanda left for China on Saturday on a four-day visit during which he is expected to hold meetings with the Chinese leaders and discuss issues of mutual concern.

Nepal's former prime minister Prachanda left for China on Saturday on a four-day visit during which he is expected to hold meetings with the Chinese leaders and discuss issues of mutual concern.

Prachanda, who is the chairman of Nepal Communist Party, before his departure said his visit is aimed at expanding relations between his party and the Communist Party of China and implementing agreements reached between Nepal and China in the past.

During his visit to China Prachanda will hold high-level meetings with the Chinese leaders and discuss issues of mutual concern, party sources said. Prachanda is paying the visit at the special invitation of Chinese Communist Party.

Prachanda had recently visited India during which he held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders.
