Gauteng police has reportedly nabbed a man for vandalizing Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Gandhi Square, central Johannesburg.
The 21-year-old was apprehended by the police when he was covering the statue plaques with white paint and was making his way up to the body of the statue, reported News24.
There were also some boards on which he wrote, "Gandhi statue must go."
He is now due to appear for malicious damage to property in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
