Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who was shot by the Taliban for championing girls’ education, has reunited with two friends also injured in the school bus attack.
The 16-year-old met with friends Kainat Riaz and Shazia Ramzan while making a speech at the University of Edinburgh.
According to Metro News, she was given an honorary degree from the university for her work in promoting education and women’s rights.
Speaking to the audience of 1,000, Malala said that Kainat and Shazia are now her in her fight for education.
She said that for achieving any goal, people must be united, they must work together and that is why she feels empowered.
The event comes after Malala went to Buckingham Palace. The Queen described her campaigning work as ‘wonderful’, and she was presented with a copy of the schoolgirl’s memoirs, the report added.
