A Pakistani news anchor on Wednesday took journalism to a whole new level when she hosted a news bulletin with her minor daughter to protest against the brutal rape and murder of 8-year-old girl in Kasur.

Kiran Naz, the news anchor of Samaa TV hosted the show with her baby girl in her lap with started the bulletin saying, "Hello, I am Kiran Naz. But, today, I am not Kiran Naz. Today, I am a mother. This is why I am sitting here with my daughter."

"It is true when they say that the smallest coffins are the heaviest and entire Pakistan is burdened by the weight of her coffin,” Naz said.

The 8-year-old girl Zainab Ansari in Kasur went missing for five days while her parents were away for religious pilgrimage in Saudia Arabia's Mecca. A CCTV footage circulated on social media showed an unidentified man holding Zainab and walking away with her. Zainab's body was later found in a pile of garbage. She was brutally raped and strangled to death in Pakistan's Punjab province.

In her emotional monologue, Naz said that while the minor's parents were on for a religious quest to offer prayers, the "monster" was preying on her.

"Monster in Pakistan was raping her and throwing her body in trash. This is not just a child’s rape and murder. This is the entire society’s murder,” Naz said.

The rape of murder of the minor girl sparked angry outbursts and protests in Pakistan. Many took to social media pointing out it is an end to 'humanity'. Protestors burnt vehicles and clashed with the police forces claiming that not a single arrest has been made so far in related to the case.

Zainab's distraught father Ameen Ansari said that he will only bury his daughter's body after the accused is arrested.
