Islamic State militants have executed a man in the Aleppo province of Syria and displayed his body on a cross as they accused him of filming their headquarters, claimed a monitoring group on Saturday.

According to News24, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that his body was then strapped to a makeshift metal cross and hung with a sign reading 'Abdullah Al-Bushi. Crime: filming Islamic State headquarters for 500 Turkish lira ($222) per video'.

IS militants have repeatedly carried out such executions of people they accuse of spying or diverting from its interpretation of Islam.

The extremist group has put bodies on cross earlier in its own version of crucifixion.

Two IS fighters, one just 15-years-old, were, themselves executed after being taken captive during fighting around the town of Kobane by Arab partners of its Kurdish defenders, said the Observatory.
