Egyptian former President Hosni Mubarak has been transferred on Thursday evening from Tora Prison Hospital to nearby Maadi Military Hospital in Cairo for treatment due to his deteriorating health condition, official news agency MENA quoted a security source.

Earlier on Thursday, Prosecutor-General Talaat Ibrahim Abdullah ordered to transfer Mubarak to the military hospital and to move him back immediately after recovery.

Last week, Mubarak was transferred from prison hospital to Maadi Military Hospital to undergo CT scan and returned back afterwards.

The ousted president, who is serving life imprisonment for ordering the killing of protesters in 2011, was recently injured in his head after slipping and falling down in a bathroom of the prison hospital.
